In order to be a successful writer, one must possess the right tools to make his/her writing effective. As for myself, I like to follow a few procedures before, during and after writing composition. Before writing, I always enjoy a pencil and paper brainstorm where all of my ideas can flow easily from the mind to the paper. While utilizing this this aspect of my writer's toolbox, I push myself to think creatively and from other perspectives, enabling a wider and deeper subject field. During the writing composition, a few tools I like to use are a thesaurus, a search engine, and, on occasion, a classical music playlist. The thesaurus aids in reducing repetitiveness and maintaining the flow of a paper while increasing my verbatim archives. The search engine helps to pad my knowledge of a subject, and classical music contributes to work flow. Additionally, I turn on my phone's airplane mode on in order to be free from distractions! Aside from a common grammar and syntax review, there is one strategy I have in my toolbox that keeps my writing succinct and effective. After the composition is finished, I like to go through my paper and see if I can condense and express my thoughts in less words. This leads to an efficient paper that gets to the point and addresses important topics only. I encourage everyone and anyone to add these tools to their toolbox for a more successful paper!
