Bitzer procures that rhetoric is situational because the circumstances of the rhetoric affect all entities involved based upon context and the presence of exigence. The situation will affect audience, subject, speaker, and mode to name a few. Therefore, the context of a situation is what propels a speaker to talk in a certain manner over another. For there to be value in words spoken or written, the rhetorical situation must be one that involves discourse through differing opinions, procedures, or purposes. The origin of discourse is derived not only from the situation, but what the situation has to offer in terms of change. This introduces the concept of exigence, which is anything that can possibly be modified by rhetoric and is likely to become the main force behind a speaker. Exigence is something the speaker feels inclined to make a point about given the circumstance. However, exigences can appear and remain unsolved during rhetoric.
Included is a narrated video created by Anthony Fantano to detail Hip-Hop/Rap's dominance at the top of the Billboard Charts. The mode of this video includes data visuals as well as a visual and audio recording of the speaker. The charts were included to give the audience of music fans concrete numbers and figures to compare the each genre's popularity and their growth from last year to this year. Fantano also added a video of himself in his study to give the video a little more personification and to relay facial cues. For instance, an expression of amazement when analyzing Rap's huge growth from 2016 to 2017 helps convince the listeners of Rap's monumental growth that Fantano is trying to convey. The style and design of this piece of media is a casual conversation between Anthony Fantano and his viewers. The casual screen capture of his computer and a video voice-over makes the video seem less authoritative and puts the audience on the same level as the speaker, which enables them to understand the message he is trying to convey that much easier. Ultimately, Fantano's submission into the music review genre of YouTube is particularly effective in achieving its purpose of conveying Rap's exponential growth in popularity.
