I plan to reach my intended audience in a few ways. Primarily, I will search hashtags related to my novel to find people who are talking about topics relevant to the themes of the novel and literature in general. From there, those people will be followed by my social media accounts in hopes of getting a follow back or at least some clicks on my project three website. These social media accounts will be in the form of Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, all which provide an easy pathway to viewing the website and narrative. As for the content of the social media posts, I will cater to each avenue specifically. Twitter will have more quote and text-based posts than Instagram, which will predominantly let the art do the speaking with a minimal caption. In order for social media promotion to be effective, the content has to be concise and genuine. I plan to create art with Canva that will be somewhat minimal while also including the themes of the narrative like friendship, the law, and institutional racism. For timing sake, I will be posting much of the content in the afternoons from 12-3pm. I feel this will be the most effective timing because the people who have been up early working or going to class finally have a lunch break where they can look at their phones, and the late risers will just be getting up and looking at their phones as most people do to catch up after hours of sleep. Additionally, this time frame has been backed up by preliminary research I carried out.
